I certainly like Hinge ones the best. Never liked pin on hoods on mustangs, just don't look very clean. Pins look good on older muscle cars though... because the pins fit with the older style cars.

Question What do you mean

Do you mean 4 pins vs. 2 pins and the hinges? I have a 4" cowl hood and I have 2 pin's on the front and two hinges on the back. I like the hinges because I can open my hood without having to take my hood completely off every time I open the hood up.

If you mean just using the latch under the hood to secure the hood, I wouldn't trust the latch to hold down the hood, it's too light.

I like the lift off hoods better. When you go to to work on your car you don't have to worry about raising your head up and hitting the hood latch. I've had this happen more times than none on my little bro's 87 gt.

I'm with Eric and Bradley on this one as well... lift-off is my hood of choice, no matter what the design, for anything that gets worked on/tuned regularly.

Keep in mind you don't have to use hood pins. I like the flush mount 1/4 turn Dzus fasteners... use 'em on my 5.5" lift-off cowl

I got sick of dodging the hood prop... I'm too short to worry about hitting my head on the latch, lol. When working up by the firewall, it's nice to have the hood out of the way, plus it lets more light into the engine compartment, generally speaking of course.

For a daily driven stocker, or mildly modified even, I'd stay with the hinges.
