![]() I am currently working on a AODE to T56 conversion. The clutch interlock in fairly simple. There is a jumper plug up near where the clutch pedal is and just gets removed and then the harness plugs into the clutch pedal assembly. Part of the new tranny harness for a manual has a jumper in it that bypasses what used to be for the nuetral safety switch on the AODE. I too have some questions about hte rest of the manual tranny harness. I only have a partial harness so I need to get a complete harness or move connectors over from my old AODE harness.

![]() Thanks for the reply. The part about the neutral safety switch i new already. Before I had my 5 speed harness I made a jumper to take care of the neutral safety. (just so I could drive it) I bought a new manual specific harness from Ford (part #F4ZZ-15525-B) it has the vss and reverse lamp switch connectors. I dont know where the neutral sense connector plugs in to, and what effect (if any) neutral sense and clutch interlock have on performing the KOER test when scanning for codes. It performed the KOEO test fine, but not the KOER. I found a plug up there when I was changing the pedals but I didnt know what it was for. The magazine article said you had to change the whole dash harness. Do you know the part number on that switch and harness? Also, where would be a good place to get shifter boots? Most everywhere I've called wants to sell me a complete kit. Youre doing a T56 conversion, huh? Thats impressive! I thought I was special with my TKO, turns out I aint'...lol.. Thanks for the help brotha...

![]() The WHOLE dash harness!? I hope not or I am in a bind. How much was the new tranny harness? For the shifter boot and the rubber thing that is actually under the boot to seal the tranny tunnel opening was $10 from the junk yard. Mine even had the shift knob and the plastic black console piece that attaches to the boot. The only other things I have to get are the clutch fork, pivot stud, and the dust cover for the clutchfork/cable. On the T56 side, they are back ordered until sometime late next month. I am getting mine from HP motorsport for $2000, I suppose that waiting is well worth not having to pay shipping and saving the $600 to order from other people.

![]() The magazine said the whole dash harness.(but what do they know?) That would be great if we didnt have to! The trans harness was about $27 from my ford dealer. What bell housing are you using? I hope your not using a stock one. I bought all my stuff from D&D in Michigan. Don is the nicest guy you will ever talk to. Call him and see what he can do on the T56. They also have clutch forks. I bought a McLeod scattershied from him, man it is cool. As for the dust cover for the clutch fork, I dont use one. I dont drive my car in the rain or on gravel roads, so I'm not worried about it. When I went to the shorter (older) style bellhousing, I did have to slot the holes in my crossmember and lengthen my driveshaft. It cost $115 to retube my driveshaft. I'm still looking for the upper and lower shifter boots, all the junkyard cars around here are aode's. I might have to buy them new.

![]() Well, I guess that I will find out if I needed the dash harness when I get it all put together. For the T56 I am just using the stock bellousing. I dont think that there is a scatter sheild for it yet.

![]() How long is it going to be before you put the pedals in? I'd really like to hear what you come up with. I'm thinking about unplugging that jumper that I found, and seeing what happens. If it doesnt start with the jumper removed, then I'd have to say thats is it. (meaning we wont have to change out the dash harness) I still havent found out about neutral sense. I picked up a manual specific computer (as well as another auto) today, but I dont even think that the manual is gonna plug in. I'm having electrical problems and I want to eliminate the computer as a possible source.
