				 | I always thought it was to keep the spring from bowing... I figured Ford put them there for a reason, so I put mine back... |

				 | It is there strickly for what Ford calls NVH. Otherwise known as: Noise, Vibration, Harshness. I have removed dozens of them and have never had a customer complaint. Keep it in if you want, it will not hurt anything, as far as I am concerned it is just extra weight, just like that big 10 lb dampner hanging off of the rear end. Just extra weight. Only ever had 1 car where it made a difference in NVH out of dozens that have been removed. Took one off a guys car once and he never noticed untill 4 months later when he was having the exhaust system done and then he wanted it put back on because "Ford put it there for a reason", despite the fact that he did not know it was missing untill he saw it missing. So we put it back on.
