![]() I'm shopping around for a 351W long block to put in my 66. I was wondering if this ad sounds like a good deal. If someone with engine rebuilding experience could look at this link and tell me what they think, I would appreciate it. http://www.ford-auto-and-parts.com/r...OR-351WLB.html

![]() the price looks ok. i would double check the bolts to make sure they are all properly torqued, but the i woud do that on a coast high perf engine also.

![]() the price does look good. No mention of cam or compression ratio though. Can you pick them? Also older blocks aren't always up to spec. I mean I had to deck mine .010 It's just that the casting process back then was not like it is today. Todays casting are pretty much balls on right out of the box. If the block was done then thats a great price. If not see how much extra to have it blueprinted. Jeez it's under a grand and for a few hundred you'd have one hell of a deal.

![]() balancing is one thing, but dont spend the money to blueprint a street engine, you will never feel or see the difference. leave the blueprinting to the all out race engines.

![]() I dont ten to trust engines with overspray onto other parts. ie. this engins crank and gear. It makes me think they never pulled it apart and just did a spraypaint job on it to sell it fast. A good engine shop should know not to paint over the oil filter unlike what this company did. Just but yourself a block and a rebuild kit and do it yourself.
