![]() Ok I have just about had it with this timing chain cover gasket replacement. I cut the oil pan gasket like the instructions said to, but I refuse to use that cork gasket replacement. So I rtv'd the cut rubber oil pan gasket to the timing chain cover, and installed it that way. Seemed to work until I forgot that timing chain retaining bolt. So I took it back apart today, and now I can not for the life of me get the oil pan gasket to line up with the holes again. Can I just ditch that cut gasket piece, and slap down a thick layer of RTV? I am just not sure if that will hold or not, being the only gasket. If you need pictures to see what I am talking about just say so, and I'll take some right away. This is getting old!
