Question Interior Color

I am trying to restore my husband's 1966 while he is serving in Iraq. I have discovered that the original color of the car is Antique Bronze. I need to figure out what the interior color was. The coded panel on the door was painted over, so that is not an option. I believe it may have been black. Can anyone help me out?? Thank you!!

How badly painted over is the data plate? Most of the time you can rub lightly with steel wool and the paint will rub off the raised numbers.

Another option is to place a piece of paper over the data plate and rub real lightly with a pencil and the numbers will show up on the paper.

If you can post the numbers I can decode the data plate and tell you all about the car.

You may try posting under the Classic Mustangs Forum, you may get more replies that way

Good luck with your restoration, and good luck to your husband fighting for our Freedom in Iraq!!!

Digging a little deeper, I have found that the 1966 Mustang with the Antique Bronze color was available ONLY in Black or Parchment (off white) with Palomino (tan) trim such as carpet. More than likely the original interior was black.

I hope this helps!
