Exclamation

do NOT get the B&M kit, i had it when mine was an AOD and it was by far the worst 50 bucks I ever spent on my car, let alone the couple hours it took to put it in
i've heard great things about the TransGo, firm shifts and it gets rid of the 4-3 downshift at WOT so you can floor it in overdrive (not recommended to do often)
im not sure what its like to install but its probably not too bad
i've heard good things about the Bauman kit aswell
if i were you, i'd look into a Lentech valve body or complete tranny, good luck

i'd go with bauman! i have a B&M and it sucks. i've also heard a few people say that the trans go kit will shift into OD when the car is drive.

y would u not want it to downshift into 3rd from 4th at WOT??????

I've got the Transgo, and I like it other than, like HiFlow said, it tends to shift into OD when in "D". I need to call Transgo and ask them about it...sure does suck going through the traps in OD.

HiFlow,

You don't want to downshift under WOT from OD because, for one, it's very hard on the tranny...will cause OD to fail eventually, and second, if you've ever tried a topspeed run and the dang tranny keeps wanting to shift to 3'rd, well, it's really annoying.

yah what he said

what if your racing a 6-speed camaro (which are pretty strong up high) and your at about 100mph and you need another gear? it wont shift into OD without the pedal being about halfway depressed, by this time the camaro is way ahead of you (god forbid)

just do what I did and stop worrying about blowing up the AOD, do a T-5 swap

I've got a Transgo Shiftkit and it works pretty good. If shifts hard enough to spin the wheels at WOT when granny shifting from 1st to 2nd.
