Question Alum Driveshaft

Has anyone used an aluminum driveshaft? If so how long is it. I have a T-5 five speed in my 67 fastback with a 302. I want to install one for the weight benefits and because I believe that my old one is out of balance. How do you figure out how long your driveshaft needs to be if you are making a custom one? Thanks in advance for any help or leads.
