![]() What do ya think! Very reminiscent of the original ones, starts at $34,000, with a 3.9L 32V DOHC V-8. That's a tiny 8 cyl! I wonder if it has any pep! Looks "interesting" to say the least!

![]() I personally like them. It takes some serious work to take a car and make it modern, yet keep the design so consistent with the original. Look at Chevys. They bring back the Impala first as a knock-off of the Caprice and then as a dinky little FWD family car. And the Monte Carlo. Same deal. Or Chrysler and the 300M. I personally like them. And that engine puts out impressive power for it's size. It's right up there with the SOHC 4.6 motors.

![]() One came into the dealership i work at (a prototype) and i got to sit in it! I also got to look at the new 3.9L engine. I think it has over 200 horsepower or something. Seeing it in pictures doesn't do it justice, the first picture i saw i was like...that's ugly. In person it looks VERY COOL! the one i got to see was a nice red with red/black interior with cool aluminum accents (or something along those lines on the interior). It looks kinda like an old MG in person (basic design, but many differces), but it's quite a bit larger. The new thunderbird is just plain awesome!

![]() I have also gotten to see a red one in person and thought it looked cool. It is defiently one of the coolest new cars for 2002. I think it would kick butt to have one of those.

![]() Don't get me worng those are bad cars. For some reason I am more anxious to see the new Marauder. Mercury Grand Marquis platform, standard leather, 24 valve DOHC(SAME AS COBRA I THINK). 18" wheels, black with black chorme accents on the outside and grey with aluminum accents on the interior. Maybe it's just me but i like the big fast cars.

![]() I love the new Bird too!! And that Mercury sounds and looks awesome. Kinda like an even better version of the 95 Impala. Sure, it wasn't as nice as the orginial, but still a sweet looking sedan from the factory. I love the gauges and the rims, and less of a gas hog than the aftermentioned Cappy I'm sure.

![]() I personally think the new T-Bird is a nice little sportster. I wish it would of been designed to of been a Vette competitor.
I find my self being more excited by the Mercury Maurader also. I cant really explain why, but I just am. I guess because its Mercury's way back into the performance thing, and it might open the door up for more performance cars. |

![]() Two words - UG LY! They've ruined that car, slowly but surely, over the years.

![]() Mercury Maurader. Add one Gran-Marquis, add one 4V 4.6 Cobra engine, take 320 HP, Throw behind it a set of 3:55 in the rear, a high stall toque convertor (THere auto), add hotrod style gauges.
And most important, take all the Grandpa bolouvard cruiser traits out of it, and you have a Mercury Maurder. Come on Mercury (the car manufac, not me) Give us a Cougar based on the Mustang Chassis and drive train next. Call it the Eliminator, put a bad a$$ 4V 4.6, or 5.4L, give it some retro 69-70 styling, and people will buy it. hmmmmm.. I think I'll get my design markers out and my Canson Pro-Marker layout paper, see what I can come up with. ![]() |
