1- Is it a good idea to remove the thermactor bosses in t he exhaust port of my stock head?

2- I need a cam&spring combo for my very mild engine

It consists:

-stock 92 forged pistons short block
-stock compression
-lightly ported stock head
-trick flow street intake
-1 5/8 headers with 2 1/2 exhaust

I want something that sound mean with great power from 1500 to 5500 rpm . So, a small cam with split paturn???

I took off the piece that attaches to the stock heads, flattened the end and welded it, and then put it back on when I removed all the smog crap.

are you talking about the holes in the back of the heads or the bumps inside (the head) the exhaust runners?
if you are talking about the bumps on the inside, yes it is wise to grind them down.
if you are talking about the holes in the back of the heads after you remove the tube, then all you have to do is get bolts that fit. or go to the dealer and they have bolts that are made for them. only a few bucks.

and then remove the solonoids and tubing as well as the cats and injector tube that goes to the cats.

let me know if you have anymore questions, i just did all of this.

for the holes in the back of the heads just get two 9/16 by 1 inch long bolts (coarse thread) .

I just did that today.

I've heard that you can remove that canister with no problems.

About the hole in the back of the heads, theres an even easier way to plug in then going out and getting bolts.

Just cut the tubing right next to the little block that bolts to the head, turn it around to where the flat (hole-less) side and bolt it back on using the existing bolt. I did this as well as using some hightemp silicone sealant on it.

it just seemed easier for me to spend $0.80 than to worry about cutting the part and sealing it with silicone.

That way, you don't ruin a part that you may need to pass emissions one day - I keep all that junk in a box, just in case.

Plus, I know that the bolts will seal a little better.
