Red face Tempermental Wipers?

Ok, so this isn't a very technical question, but I figured it belonged here more than BOL or anywhere else.

I have a 94 GT with intermittent wipers. The problem I'm having is: they work on the lowest setting, the standard fast, and the insane fastest setting. But on all the settings between the lowest and middle, only some work! When I try to select some on the small notches (picture the dial) some work perfectly, and others don't work at all.

Any ideas? I would think if something was broken, none would work

Wink

Sounds like your interval wiper relay, or your switch.

I don't know if the interval wipers have a seperate relay on your car. I'd just replace them both if it's not too difficult.

The wiper relays will be simple. I don't know about the switch.

Its the multifunction switch...absolutely the worst quality piece on any Ford vehicle. I've had a little luck in the past removing the switch and cleaning it well with terminal cleaner, but others I've had to completely replace. They're easy to replace so don't let the dealership charge you $200 to do it. The switch is about $45 and it can be replaced in about 30 minutes time.
