Default ~new Motor And It Wont Start~???

i have just put my motor back in the car, i had it bored .030 over, rpm heads, rpm intake, e303 cam, 1.6 roller rockers, mass air, throttle body, and a couple of other goodies, MY PROBLEM IS THAT THE CAR WONT START, it will crank over, its getting gas and spark, i did the timing at #1 on the compression stroke, i just dont get it im pulling my hair out here. there is one thing that i noticed that just doesnt seem right to me, when i have the key in the on position, and turn the distributor, there is one spot that makes the fuel pump go on, and it clicks the relay on the overflow bottle, it acts as though i am turning on and off the key just by turning the dist. I JUST DONT GET IT, IF YOU HAVE ANY INFO PLEASE HELP ME.

don't know about the fuel pump question..

but have you checked, double checked and triple checked the firing order?? and your absolutely sure the dist is correct??

if it has fuel and spark it should at least fire..

yeah, ihave checked the firing order again and again, bu they are all correct, i dont understand why the damn thingwont start, its getting aggravating.

im thinking my dist. might be bad cause when i turn the dist. with the key on it clicks the relay and turns on the fuel pump.

When your were putting the motor together, did you make sure the timing gears lined up correctly?

Your distributor is not the problem. Mine does the same thing, I just never thought of why.

Are you sure you didnt put it on #1 on the exhaust stroke? If you arent absolutely sure, then turn the dsitributor 180degrees and try again.

Its gotta be something simple for it to not start at all.
