Default Cutting tailpipes

Because of my H-pipe, my GT turn down pipes stick out a little below the rear bumper cover. I don't like the way it looks because one sticks out more than the other. Is it safe to cut the ends of the pipes using a hack saw or something so that both pipes are above the bumper cover and unable to see? I just want it to look like a normal GT, thats all.
