Default 98 Cobras

I know this isn't much about Modular engines, but I was just wondering why the 98' Cobra wheels are soo much cheaper than any other year. I personally think they look the best, but I've seen then for as low as 105/tire (latest 5.0&SF mag). That's just over four hundred bucks...for FOUR wheels...

I'm thinking seriously about asking for those for Christmas...just wondering if there are any downfalls. That, and why are they so cheap?

Most likly because they are a stock rim. They are only 17x8's Most others that are aftermarket are 17x9 or bigger. But you are right theyy do look good. I was going to put them on mine but went to the FRPP Cobra R's 17x9 to match my hood. My buddy is selling his 1998 Rims off his 1998 Cobra and they have tires on them. If you intrested.

You might want to look at the maker of that Cobra wheel. The one that was 105 bucks. Most likely it is a "generic" brand of that wheel. You can get 95 Cobra R's cheap if you by a no-name brand maker. Just might wanna check that out. Or that wheel might just be that cheap.

Titan. I have a set of Chrome Cobra R's for sale if you might be interested in them.

They are Ford Racing, but they are 17"-8"...that's why they're so cheap (damn fine print). How much...I have to stay around $500, NO MORE. My christmas limit is usually around $500, so I can't be too extreme. Also, what year. I like the style of the 98's, how they curve out then in...preciate it.

I am not sure on the price yet. They have 4 almost brand new tires. I will get back with you on the price. They sell $275 a wheel new. But I will not ask that much. Here is a link showing excatly what they look like. Titan, where are you orginally from if you dont mind me asking. I can see now that you are in ATL.

I'm from Grayson...bout 20 miles east, just outside of Stn. Mtn. I can probably already tell you I won't be able to purchase them. W/ 4 new tires, that looking at over 1k, I only have half that...sry, I love they way those look, tho.

Maybe I could buy two...one for the front, one for the back

Just out of curiousity, why did you buy the nicest set of wheels on the site and now decide to sell them? Those things look nice...maybe a christmas present?

Well, that isnt the site I got them off of. I am just a Mustang freak. They came off of an earlier model Mustang I had. Plus I am looking to by a blower, so I need the cash.I have the stock Bullit wheels sitting in the garage just waiting for me to put them back on. hehe. I just dont care for the way the wheels ride. I also want the 00 Cobra R's, 18 x 9's. Yeah, I would have to ask about $800 atleast for them. I am low on cash myself right now. So if I was in your shoes I would totally understand. But, If you know of anyone that wants them just let me know.

Sorry I couldnt help you.

actually...this may be a stretch, but I can see a faint light at the end of the tunnel.

If I could get a few hundred out of my wheels/2 good tires, and yours had tires on them...800 doesn't sound too bad. Lemme check e-bay, then I'll pm you. It would be a couple months, though (christmas).
