![]() I would use a T-56 6-speed. They are rated at 440 ft-lbs or you can get one blueprinted rated at 550 ft-lbs which blows the tremec tko out of the water. You will pay about $2000 and $3000 respectively for these trannies plus the bellhousing, crossmember, etc. But like they say , you get what you pay for. Also these are the trannies they are using on the Hennessey Viper which cranks out over 800 HP!

![]() Yeah, T56. The extra gears will also make up for your rear end gear. You could go with 3.73s and still have an overdrive that is the equivalent of 5th gear on a T5 with 2.73 rear.
Just think, lot's of power and good gas mileage. ------------------ 351W 89 Mustang GT Convertible |

![]() The tremec tko is rated at 800Foot pounds and a blue printed t56 wont blow it out of the water but I think you should look into a jerico 4 speed They are awsome. Also at a 1700 foot pound rating they are virtually bullet proof. The shifts are perfect you can concentrate on your driving instead of your shifting.

![]() Jerico or G-Force. If you're serious about racing the car, either of these are the ticket to getting the most out of the combination. Unfortunately, you'll have to sell the car to be able to afford either and then what good would it do to have the transmission.

![]() thiers people in the 10s with stock trannies..i would think a tremec would do just because you are running a turbo and the power comes on a hell of alot smoother that a 500hp/550tq all motor car..

![]() The T56 has a .50 sixth. At least the one that goes in the Cobra R does. That makes the final drive the equivalent of a T5 fifth gear and 2.73 gears.
The first four gears are what matter anyway. I would go with the version that would give me economy, too. ------------------ 351W 89 Mustang GT Convertible [This message has been edited by jimberg (edited 05-18-2001).] |

![]() Do yourself a favor get a (Properly built) Manually shifted C-4 with the right converter and blow the doors off the competition, The only way i would even consider buying a Jericho, Or Liberty was if i was building a 800hp+ Pro car. And as far as this T-56 blowing the doors off of the Tremec TKO or 3550 for that matter, Thats a bunch of Hype The Tremec is a Bad Tranny! Unlike the Wimpy T-5.
