Default 403hp v6...I told you Skyler, Dan beat me to it!

Can you say "Daaaammmnnnn", he's one of our member's at www.3.8mustang.com

He's been in MM&FF a couple times, his name is Dan Haga from Maryland. Can you say deep 11's? For a v6, i'd sure love to drive it.

No offense but best time I've found for him is low 13's at 110 mph. mph shows low 12's.

car is very nice and thought out but hasn't produced the numbers


yet.

I had smiliar results when I polished my turd, cause afterward it looked really bling-bling, especially since I chromed the corn pieces, but I finally realized that deep down, it was still just a turd.

I am not taking his side but if you read he has not run his car since it has been redone. The 13 seconds was at less 403 hp. So you guys may want to read first.

All I'm saying is that I have more then 400RWHP and I know I can beat 13's.... He has an advantage, he should be carring less weight since he is missing 2 cylenders. It's also sad he needs a blower to atempt to keep up with my N/A motor....

Dan's car ran in the 13's prior to making 403rwhp. It has yet to take a few run's down the 1320. It should break into the very high 11's easy. And it's a daily driver.

And for you v8 guys who think that a 400 plus hp v6 is junk, don't get your feelings hurt when one beats you one day. My car has handed a few v8's my tail lights in its time. Once they find out its a built up v6, there either pissy about it or tell me their car just isnt running right. Shallow minds i suppose. Granted, there not common (300-400hp V6'S) and the v6 platform (3.8L) is not the greatest, but taking a 17 second car and shaving off 4-5seconds off an e.t., isn't impressive? C'mon, it's impressive for what the car is, a v6 MUSTANG. And spare me the stories of, well, you could go alot faster if you did the same to a v8. I hear that way to much, weather it be true or not. Building a v6 to run in the 13's, even 12's as a daily driver is by far more impressive, then a v8 that runs the same with a few bolt ons, those are a dime a dozen. We all drive a Mustang around here and fast is fast, weather it be a 4cyl svo, v6 or v8. Wake up and respect some of your little breathren, some of us take alot of time and effort to build our cars, we enjoy bustin knuckles on the weekend constantly adding to it's performance, it's a labor of love....speed and hp come in all engine sizes gentelmen, remember that.

And cyberstang5.0, your last post shows the bench racer in you. It's run what you brung. I somehow think your ego would pop if you were ever beaten by a v6 of that caliber. Even if the v6 lost by a car length, thats still impressive for a v6 mustang.


fiveohpatrol, Yes, Dan's car is pretty ugly with that front facia and double stack spoiler and all the sponsor logo's, but by no means should that car be refrenced as a turd.

Hammer, i agree with you on the Grand Nationals, there one bad *** v6 Who was the guy back in the day that ran 9 and 10 second e.t.'s with his v6 GN? About 10 years ago i think it was.

I agree that shaving off 4-5 seconds off of a car is impressive. I would like to see this V6 Stang myself in person just to see all he's done. I give him props for bringing that car as far as he did.

But it all comes to the "run what your brung" theory.... if your goal is to be the fastest out there, it would make sence to get whatever parts you need to make that true. It's just common sence.... If you spend 10k on a V6 to get it in the 13's or if you spend 10K on a V8 to get it in the 11's or 10's.... bottom line, the V8 will win and the same amount of time and money has been spent.

No one is going to give you the same amount of praise if you started out with a pea shooter and turned it into a potato gun when someone else can make a rocketlauncher.

If one day I do get beat by a V6, I would be shocked to h*ll, but I wouldn't be pissed. I would also give that person the credit they deserve. I have ran a few cars that I barely beat and though it was going to be a piece of cake run.

You missed my point in my last post. It's not about having the fastest car out there. This thread is about a v6 mustang that has 403rwhp. For a daily drivin street car, thats impressive for the car that it is. And by the way, it only took me 5 grand to get into the 13's reliably. So, what i paid for the car, plus the engine work costs alot less then a gt or cobra and still has the same performance level if not better. (COMMON SENSE ON MY BUDGET?)I don't know what kind of v6 guys you've talked to in the past, but the ones like me dont have the attitude that my car is the fastest thing on the road. I know the limits of my car, i know that 13 second e.t's are not neckbreaking speeds, it will never sound like a v8, but it does turn alot heads. Thats why i built my car, it's not everyday to see a v6 mustang of that caliber.

And something that took my attention in your last reply:

Yes, I have built cars up in the past... below is a perfect example of one You said that there are many factors in building a motor. Yes, this is true. It all depends on your setup and how you drive it. But reguardless of what parts you buy, you still need to spend money just to catch up to me, before I start moding my car.

Just like you, I have spent less money then a new car would cost. I put 10K into my motor, 2K into my suspension, plus 5500 to buy the car stock... and I still have spent less then what a new 03 Cobra costs (about $35,000), yet I have more HP and Torque Can you say the same?

I'm not bashing you, or your car, or how far your car has come from stock performance wise... All I'm saying is I can spend the same money as you and beat you! You might be after getting people heads to turn, I have gotten a lot myself. Thousands of people go to NHRA Drag Races because they want to see the power those cars have. They don't go to see 13 second cars.


This is turning into a ricer vs domestic debate....
(by this I mean tiny motors vs big motors)

Everyone knows you can go faster for cheaper with a bigger motor. Yeah I dont like the looks of the car, but if its making 402rwhp thats awesome. Any car making 300+ on the street will beat most cars out there.

That's the funniest thing i've heard from a v8 guy in awhile! You have a fast car and it looks sweet, quit being intimidated by a v6 that happens to have 403rwhp. That car and this conversation is not a ricer debate, nor have i directed it that way. By the way, i used to hang out with skyler on the weekends with a few other buddies. They all drove 12 and 13 second cars, i was the only one with a v6 in that crowd. But you know what, not once was it ever a debate about who's car was better, we all shared the same interest, Mustang's and good times.



Thanks skyler, glad to see your alive and well. I will post some photo's of my car, so you can see where she's at these days. Alot of work has been done within the last year.

Yeah man I definatly wanna see it. I cut the cage out of my car and pulled out the nitrous, got the nice interior all back in it again now. Its up and running good now though, Im takin it to the track this weekend. Definatly shoot me some pics of you car. Have you had it to the track yet lately? How life back there? Its 98 degrees here today and too damn hot.

Why do you want to race me? Do you like easy kills? This thread isn't about my car and how fast it is. Pick on someone who will give you a good race and thats in your area. Quit bench racing and realize that your gas pedal is in your car, it's not attached to your keyboard. You've made some valid points in some of your posts about the v6's, but challenging me to a race that you know you will win, is rediculous. If challenging slower cars is your goal, you have issues and are mislead about real compition. Mine could be the slowest Mustang, but it's still a bad *** Mustang, get my point?. If you want an easy kill race my car. It is so F-ing slow. Hopefully the new gears and driveshaft will help knock off some time.

By the way What stickers give you the most HP? Should I put a Type R sticker on my Mustang or maybe a NOS? What will me the most HP? By the way this is a JOKE!!
