![]() I'm trying to visualize how this will work with my '69 351W. Mine is not a reverse rotation block so I can't run a stock 5.0 pump. I also bought the AC and PS delete brackets in case I need them. Since I'm not swapping a 302 I don't have anything from the 302 to start with, so I'm starting from scratch. My question is that I heard I might need a spacer on my dampner to run the sepentine system. Is this true and how do you suggest I run my belts?? What pulleys should I get?

![]() I read your other post first....
i really can't advise you to get any parts because i don't know for sure what will fit and what won't. I believe if you use a later HO 302 reverse rotation pump, timing chain cover and pulleys you should be ok and the brackets to convert over from a 302 should kit perfect. I don't think you'd need a spacer on the dampner, but i may be wrong, i thought 351's had the same dampner as 302's (at least the non-HO ones, but i think they're the same). This link shows how 302 belts are routed (shows short belts, but shows generally how they're routed) ------------------ '84 Mustang 5.0 LX My car |

![]() Thanks. I also did some calling around and found out that I will need the spacer, and the bracketing can be bought from March. The problem I found is that the damper that is on the block is for a 302 according to the part number stamped on the damper. However, the damper, crank, flywheel, etc. have been pre-balanced at a machine shop. The question is can I use that damper or do I need to take apart the motor and get everything re-balanced? I posted a msg regarding this issue and hopefully I can get some responses. I'm hoping that since everything was pre-balanced that I'll be o.k.
