Arrow **new Best**

Previous best was a 12.65 @ 110.

Over the last few weeks, I've made the following changes to my 331 combo:

- 65mm TB to 75mm TB
- GT-40 Intake to Trick Flow Track Heat Intake
- Increased compression from 9.2:1 to 10.0:1 via head milling (both intake side and bottom of heads to maintain port allignment).
- Steeda #19 cam to Anderson N-41 cam

With these changes, I ran a 12.24 @ 113.97 on BFG drag radials with a 1.87 60' time at Norwalk Raceway Park this past Friday. Shifts were right around 6000 on the stock tach.

All in all, I'm very happy with my combo and the results. The intake and cam changes made a huge difference in how the engine continues to make power in the upper RPM band. With my old combo, the power would just fall off dramatically after 5000. Now, the car pulls hard through 6000.

A Big Thanks to Mike for letting me borrow his truck so that I could pull my car up to Norwalk.

Thumbs up

Man, I really like these types of threads. Reminds me when I made a few changes to my '79 and dropped from low 14s to mid 13s (biggest change being Nitto DRs) .

That's gotta be gratifying to make changes to the car and to have them work for the better. Have you ever run the car on slicks? I bet that thing is even more of a beast on the road now that it pulls hard all the way to 6000 instead of dropping off at 5.

Now, go putting a hurting on some C5s and perhaps a Viper here or there.

No, not yet. Just some off the shelf BBK equal length shorties. I'm thinking long tubes, electric fan and battery relocate to the trunk for next year.

Or, maybe just bolt on some slicks and grab a high 11 sec pass!

I bet you go 116mph with long tubes if not more. I think I already told you about the guy that went from low 12's @108 to 11.68 @116 with 1 3/4 long tube headers. He was also running BBK 1 5/8 shorties.

Sounds like you will have a solid 11 second car soon.

Nice!

Hell yeah! Nice job. For that et and mph it looks like you are doing a good job of driving it. A set of slicks and you definately have an 11 second car.

Thanks, guys.

I'm really pleased with where the car is now and I think with a few more well placed mods (LT headers, etc.) the car can pick up even a few more HP.
