Default I likes my new gears!!

moderator will probaly move this thread but 3.27 to 3.90's MY old best times in my sig.
new best after gears first and only pass, (track was crowded)

r/t .530

60 ft: 1.710 (with a soft 4500 rpm launch to be easy on clutch)

e.t: 12.703 @ 107.35

got it on video, looked like it carried the front wheel for a split second, the ss camaro with nos next to me got tree'd and broke about 30 feet out!
The playing in gear oil for days, and listening to my g/f complain was worth it!

I just want to do what you are doing, but with a C-4. My congratulations for your success. I think I'll have to have a 3000 stall convertor for my purposes. My latest project (a CC 224/230 @.050 and an Edelbrrock Air-Gap intake) have been driving me crazy with tuning issues. Huge bogs occurring 2000-3000 with every conceivable combo of accelerator pump, squirter, jets, and power valves .

I just hate a bog in the fuel curve, but I'm afraid it's due to the cam and intake that I'm using.

Man i can't get that vid on the pc, but i can still send it to ya? via vhs.....heh

rev, my friend just snapped a t-5, and is going to a c4, he sprays a wet 125 shot, he ordered the c4 with a 3500 stall, im curious to see what it can 60', of course thats where good e.t.s come from is the 60'...

Btw, that vid is cool, cuz that ss f-bod had a roll cage, and was all purging next to me, i kept my cool, and he broke, you could see him launch, then see sparks coming from under his car, in the tranny area i think? clutch? who knows? he ran a 22 @ 59 mph..... it was a chevy lol..

It's about damn time you got some decent gears in that thing

Sounds like you are running right around the same that my old 302 P head/exploder intake combo, 12.7@107 with a similar 60ft. What tires are you using? There is probably another .1-.2 in ET in there with some suspension work, but a 12.7 sure ain't bad for a very basic mild combo like that.

btw, I like my new gears too, I went from 3.73's in the stock diff to 4.30s and a spool

whats been up fivepatrol!
I run a m/t drag 26x8.5, drive to the track on them too, i used to cut 1.81's on e.t. streets, and 3.27's.
I'll have it running 12.50's 108+ with some tuning, i just found a arching plug wire, and it needs a routine tuneup, also i consider my coupe kinda heavy, might rip out some weight and get it down to about 3,080 or so with me in it.

To anwer the 1/8 question, i believe I ran a 8.1@ 85 mph n/a of course......good day

fiveohpatrol, what would your opinion be on maybe me switching intakes to a holley sys? you think it would be worth the money? im looking for the most trap speed i can get out of these non-p heads

I really don't think switching to a holley intake would help much, unless you had a much better cam in it.

Take some weight out of it, launch it at 6000 and shift it like there's no tomorrow
