Post Need metric Speedo gear for 93GT

I replaced my 89 speedometer (85 mph) with a 93 speedometer (230 Km/h), but now my needle is a little loopy. What gear went into 93GT's that were ships to canada?

Go into more detail as to what loopy means. The only difference between a Canadian 230kph and US 140 mph speedo that I can think of is the numbers printed on the gauge face. If you're having problems it is more likely due to the driven or drive gear you used. Do you have a rear gear ratio other than stock installed?

Did you get cable in all the way to back of speedometer and in trany. 93 mustangs with t-5 used a 8 tooth drive gear rather than a 7 as in older models. Can someone tell us if this is a problem.

I have a 140MPH speedo in my 88GT, I did not do anything to my tranny gear. I just had to swap out my speedo.

When you say loopy? Is the speed off? Is the needle wabbling?

You do not want to change your gear because then your KM ratings will be off, if you care, which I do not.

So, what is it you needle? Or is the speed off?
