Lightbulb track racing

Hello I have a 89 GT ford Mustang with a 351 Windsor, stock gears, stock heads, stock throttle body, futura tires,Edelbrock performer intake upper/lower,40 over forge pistons,flat-tap agressive cam,24lb. injectors. On the track i run 15 flat in the 1/4 mile, thats my best time =[, its sad but yeah its the best one so far.My ques. is why can i only run 15,my car should be running high 13's,low 14's. What can i do to make my car perform the way I want it to? The motor only has 3k miles on it, it is brand new.
thx for all your help -krepe-

Cool

Get me to drive it ... (just kidding)

How often did you go to track? Are you an experienced driver?

I think you need heads, cam, and exhaust. It's doubtful that your engine can breathe well at all. It's just about stock except for the intake. Probably has small valves and smog heads. You probably need some kind of custom chip as well. Those mods will probably take at least a full second off your time slip. My $.02.

An agressive cam with a performer intake and everything else stock won't go too far. It's better to match everything to the rpm at which the engine will be ran at. I'd go with an exhaust job, (home)port and polish job on the heads and intake, some gears, throttle body, mass air sensor, cold air induction, a different cam, some headers, and since you have forged piston's a shot of nitrous. This should put you in the 13's.

What trans do you have in it? Switch the Throttle body to a 70mm. Depending on trans switch to a 3.73 or 4.10. What are the specs on your cam? What exhaust is in the car? It sounds to me you are choking that motor. Also what is the compression on the motor?

Question

"Listen up because this is a matter of life or death! Open up the air way and let the patient breathe"! Buy a 70mm TB ($170), 77mm Pro-M ($400), World Product Windsor Sr heads ($750) and some real tires, BFG Drag radials ($160 each). After you buy these parts, take the car to a shop with a chassis dyno and tune it until you get to your desired level of performance.
