Harmonic Balancer Suggestions
Now that I know I have spun a rod bearing, I know I need to replace the damaged rod, and source a good refurbished crank. I plan to take a good rod and piston down to a balance shop. They can match the replacement rod and piston to the other good units, and balance the new crank.
Does anyone out there run a street based harmonic balancer that you love and would recommend. I do not want to use the old stock harmonic balancer any longer. It is time to move on to a more modern unit. Any suggestions?

I have a friend that runs a Street Damper from FLuidamper and is very happy, nice looking piece. I would suggest a SFI balancer just to ensure it never comes apart and at 400hp it really is a good idea to have one. I run a Romac $230 and am very happy with the looks and performance it has, bought it through Wynn Speed. I know they offer a cheaper SFI balancer made by Pioneer..I have no info but it was only $189.

Fluidampr
I'm running a Fluidampr (28 oz) on my 331 and it works great. Plus it's SFI approved.
They're a little pricey at $350, but it's a well made piece with a great reputation. E

I also recomend the fuidampr. Around $330.00 but a sweet piece. Seems better than the ATI that others think is better. Just look at the vibration graphs and RPM ranges available on their web sites. the results are right there to make you own decision.

My machinist friend said my crank is salvageable as long as it passes magnaflux inspection. He will not turn it till he specs it out. Since my engine is balanced, If I use my stock piece it will still be in balance.
But when I have the inkling, I may squeeze on a new one just to see if it improves things. Jim Thanks for the advice. I have it all copied down for future reference.
