New mods
I have a 89 vert with the following mods. S trim @10lbs 87mm mass air, 75mm t-body, ported edelbrock performer upper and lower, gt40-x heads, b- cam, the standard fuel system.190lph&a trex, 30lb injectors. I have a chance to sell the heads and cam. I would like to change to afr 185cc heads and a comp xe274hr and adjustable roller rockers. This car dynoed 478 rw horsepower on pump gas w 2 degrees of retard per lb of boost. I wonder if these new mods would really improve my performance or just be a quality improvement. I've seen people take a car apart that was working and make it slower.

Sounds like your making failry good hp right now. Why change the heads?

The only reason i can really give is, to get the cnc ported heads and the thicker deck surface

O.K. I changed several parts. I bought AFR 205cc heads and a tfs stage 2 cam and 1.6 adjustable roller rackers. I will stick w 10lbs. Those chambers are 60cc compared to the 64cc on the gt40s. I cant decide if i should have the chambers wallowed out to 64 or will i detonate due to the extra compression provided by the 60 chambers
