Default ECT sensor relocation

Has anyone tried relocating the ECT sensor off of the cooling tube to one of the open plugs on the rear of the lower intake?

I want to remove the tubes all together

My worst case solution is to put a break in the heater hose hith a fitting for the sensor. I'm puting the motor in a 67 and I want to delete egr, canister, air pump and run heater hoses. I want to get rid of the coolant tube as well........just trying to make it look as vintage as possible

If you don't have the tubes, what are you going to connect the heater hoses to?

The water pump and put a nipple fitting on the lower intake where the tube is connected.

Make sure you put a hose clamp on that nipple, hot water shooting out when your not expecting it would be a bad day. Wouldn't a tube look cleaner than a hose running all the way back to the firewall? IMO anyway.
