Headlights not working, what gives?
well, my lights gave out while driving home on wednesday night, and now im kinda in the dark I had to drive home with a little flashlight shining on the ground infront of me to get home, along with my hazzards flashing.
the passing beam(pull back from the low beams) on the turn signal assembly doesnt work now, and it will only go into low beam(normal lights) and high beam(push forward from the low beams). anyone have any clue??? my parking lights still work, but thats about it. thanks

check fuse..i belive the running and the head lights are on diffrent ones...i doubt the same thing happened to you that happened to me the first day i bought my 87 hatch..driving it around the first night and the lights got dimmer..then all of a sudden the shut off..no idea why till i got home and noticed that the headlights were 1/4 full of h20 and when i went around a corner the water hit the bulbs and blew them out!!!so dont rule out the unobvious?!

i checked the fueses, and the only one not getting power was the fog light fuse.

check to see where you loose the power..odds are you need the "headlight fix"..it happens on almost all the GT's..the wires get too hot and burn out..to will need to wire a fatter gauge wire to the supply at the switch..the only other thing i can think of is that iff the brite/blinker..sometimes they wil make the headligts go out only...so go try those 2 things..do a search on headlight fix and im sure you find the exact way to wire it up..hope this hellps

its actually called the multifunction switch like i told you thursday
but noooo you wanted to get the voltmeter and check the headlight switch congrats on gettin it fixed. did you ever get another O2 sensor in there? is that fixed too

Bowtie, if you want that switch to last longer you should either not run with your fog lights on all of the time or rewire the fog lights so they draw their power directly from the battery. I did the latter and it works great.
I rewired it so that the circuit that would normally power the fog lights will now power a relay for each light. I then have wires going from ground to the fog lights, the fog lights to the relay, and then the relay to the post where the positive battery terminal hooks to the starter relay. Everything works exactly the same as it did before except that it doesn't overheat anymore. Here's a diagram:
