Default V6 Headers

I can't seem to find any headers for my 1986 Convertible V6...

How different are the headers for the newer model V6s???

I was informed that the only difference is that the newer headers come with emission hook ups....this could surely be eliminated by a good welder....

I would sure appreciate any ideas.....thanks

The headers have a ball and socket type fitting to the y-pipe on later models, whereas your model likely has exhaust manifold that hooks up fairly straight without and ball and socket fitting, rather a flange on a slightly flared pipe end. You would likely need to get the part of the y-pipe that hooks onto the headers or just get custom exhaust.
Hope this helps,
