Friends! please help and WS6 kill.
First off, I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and I wish you all the best. Secondly I had a great race right after Thanksgiving dinner. I was headed home from the dinner when a loud LT1 WS6 turned right beside me and stopped at the light next to me. He looks over at me and when the light turns green we both slowly creep out of the intersection. I wait untill I hear him punch it...then floor it, put a car on him and powershift second, pull another carlength and hit 3rd then pump da brakes. He flys by me and does a huge burnout at the next intersection to show me how pissed off he is. I drove by him slowly and gave him a thumbs up laughing at his ***. My trac loc is out so I only have one wheel powering the car now. I wish I could have told him that he got beat by a mustang powered by only one wheel
That brings up my question for the masses. Will fixing my diff make a fat difference in my cars performance? With only one wheel powering my car I hit a 2.24 60ft and ran a 14.00 @ 102.4 mph on a bald drag radial at Carlsbad. I just read an old MM&FF mag where they put a set of Edelbrock heads and Intake on a 94 stang that looks JUST like mine......they got 262rwhp out of it and ended up with a 13.0 @ 106 on a 2.0 60ft. My car is made 282RWHP when it was burning oil (which I fixed) but Im still nowhere near MM&FF's times!!!!! whats the deal? They are running 8 tenths quicker and 4mph faster with 20 LESS rwhp!!! Is my one wheel power making THAT much of a difference? Im getting pissed off here. I am getting the Eibach drag kit with the Right rear airbag and drag shocks for Christmas and already have 410's and a Trac Loc rebuild kit ready to install. Please tell me what you guys think.

You can pick up 6 tenths with a good launch on DR's, which is going to be very hard with a one wheel wonder. Better get that fixed up!

Are you sure you mean a LT1 WS6, cause I don't think they made a WS6 with a LT1. If it was a LS1 WS6 then he couldn't drive.

Yup! Your right LT1 96-97, Ls1 98-02, the first in 78.

Are the TFS heads and Holley intake port-matched to each other? MM&FF barely mentioned that they port-matched the intake to the heads. The cam is also part of the Edelbrock Power Package. Your B303 cam, TFS heads and Holley intake probably isn't the best combo for your car.

If anything I would like to change the B cam to an F303. I am also running cats and am still using the factory air induction tubing. Maybe with a Bassani off road X pipe and a cold air kit I could break 300rwhp? But Im still confused about how MM & FF got their 94 to hit 13.0's with only 262RWHP? I mean the new Cobras are making 270 + at the wheels and theyre typicaly mid 13 second cars on a good 60ft.

I'm not real sure on the 5.0 stuff but i know of several guys that have ran even 12.9x's @ 103ish mph, with around 260rwhp from a gt 4.6L! It takes good suspension equipment(drag stuff) good air, and 5000+ rpm clutch dumps on slicks! I'm in the same boat as you, I make more hp than them and just can't get it to the ground either

Putting 1.7RR's on your B cam will basically turn it into an F cam. .514 lift 224* (plus just a little more duration at .500. Meaning you're pretty damn close to the .512 226* F cam. That's probably what I'd do to give you some more power with that combo.
What gears do you have now? You don't have the stock gearing do you? |

I know about the 1.7's I used to have crane 1.7's on my stock heads with this cam before I did the head swap. I would much rather have the extra lift at the camshaft than the rocker though. The F cam will still have 2more degrees of lift than a B with 1.7's. Although a rocker swap is a lot easier to perform than a cam swap Im running 355's right now and those are the same gears that MM&FF was using. Im going to swap to 410's very soon when I rebuild my rear end. I already have the gears, I just gotta stuff em in. The only thing that I can think of about MM&FF's project car is that theyre using a Lentech AOD with a perfectly matched converter. Im using a Tremec 3550. Maybe the matched converter helped them out?

You know what, screw dynos. Get to the track and play with it.
From what I see the B303 makes peak power at 5100rpm, not a good match w/ your heads/intake. My car slowly went from running 14.1 to 12.5 with no changes in the motor combo, so hang in there, get the power to the ground, play with things at the track, and eventually it will get there. 282rwhp if thats really wha tyou have should trap 107.
