Cobra MAF Conversion kit
I was planning on putting the 93 cobra maf coversion kit on my mostly stock 5.0 ( 65 mm tb, 2.5 xpipe and exhaust, 3.55gears) Is this a combination that I can run on my stock engine or do I need hipo heads, intake and fuel pump etc. to run this combo.
The kit consists includes: cobra ecu 70mm maf 24lb injectors |

I'd just stick with speed density.
Also, the Cobra computer is crap, only one worst is a 94-95 Cobra computer

You'd probably lose atleast 10hp and 10lbft by going with that kit. It is also a HUGE waste of money.
Unless you plan on moderate mods to your car, just stick with what you have now. If you do need to eventually switch to Mass air, do what I did. Just buy the wiring harness, an aftermarket meter, and then find a computer (eBay?). I spent a total of about $200 when i switched over to mass air, and that was with a 75mm Pro-M meter (used)

93 Cobra computer whats the real deal!
I've been on this site for a couple of years reading hundreds of posts and seems every one has givin the 93 cobra computer a bad rap. In my opinion some one here said they suck and everyone spread the word they are the worst. I've had people tell me about them staying in closed loop for 10 seconds and for 3 more seconds between shifts the retard more timing than my moms escort, and that the cars run bad. NOT trying to start any fights here I've just had both the ? 9AL in my 90GT and the stock 93 Cobra computer. I understand that the Cobra's have a few extra goodies that the GT's didn't but the Cobra pulls alot harder at the track and with alot better times than the GT. Is it just the chip in the 93 computer or the entire computer that sucks soo bad? One more question, Has any body here had a 93 Cobra conversion raced it, then switched it to a 90's GT computer and picked up like 7 tenths in the 1/4 mile or is everybody following along with a post they heard it sucked, cuz if mine sucks soo bad maybe I'll be in the market soon for a new computer for my cobra.

A few extra goodies???? It has heads, intake, cam, RR's, and TB. Heck yea it faster, duh. It's the programing of the Cobra computer that makes it suck so bad, but not enough to let you pick up 7 tenths. It is a fairly common swap, especially among 94-95 Cobra guys, to swap a A9L computer into the car.

my '93 cobra barely runs with the factory computer but runs like a raped ape with an A9L i'm not sure why the A9L works so much better with the X3Z it barely idles and on the road i full throttled it and the car bucked and backfired so hard my rearview mirror ripped off the windshield and flew into the back seat so i put the A9L back in and it ran perfect always has.
