top speed question, not how fast can i go
A few days ago I went for a top speed run, just to see if the heads pulled harder with speed up top. They definitely did. But, when I hit 130mph I was at redline in 4th gear. Now I've heard a lot of people talking about hitting 140+ a lot. To get that fast do you keep it in 4th and hold it in the redline or do you shift to 5th and wait forever. Cause when I shifted to 5th I hardly picked up any speed.

Your Done at Redline
You gotta shift man, because once you're in the red your done, otherwise you might damage the engine, or you'll bump the rev limiter which I I've heard is about 200 rpm's into the red.

I forgot about the rev limiter, guess you do have to shift then.

you need to find your engines sweet spot if your over it your actually losing power get it dyno`d and that should tell you when to shift and how do those heads feel can you realy feel it in the a** when you take off i `want to do the heads thing but it may interfear later with my supercharger plans

What's the top speed with the 3.73's? Do the gears make 5th useful or is still only for overdrive?

172mph baby.
The fastest I have ever hade the B***S to drive my car on the road was 140mph but on the dyno running 3.73s out back I got a speed of 172mph @6000rpm.
I stopped after that cause the tires where smoking a little & I didn't think I would have gotten any more from her.
