				 | Throaty exhaust with cats Hi, Living in Ontario,Canada, we have to put up with emission laws, and therefore, we are forced to run with our catalyctic-converters. I have heard several off-road H-pipe setups and think they are some of the coolest sounding exhaust, regardless of the mufflers (although I think American Thunder or Mac Flowpaths sound the best). I currently run my stock cats and headers with a Mac Flowpath cat-back (and a mild cam)and am pleased with my exhaust, however, its loud and has a lot of drone. What I would rather have is a throaty/gurgle/rumble sound. So, what is the cheapest way to get this type of sound, while still running stock headers & cats? Bye! ------------------ Gautam N. | If you already have a cat-back system you should go with an aftermarket H-pipe or X-pipe with Cats. Other than that you might want to swap your headers out for some long tubes, but I think the best gain in power is by removing all 4 of those stock cats. I scrapped my cats and that made a HUGE difference. Now, I know that you can't scrap them, but I'd go with high flow cats atleast. Plus the sound is awesome ------------------ Driving: 1998 F-150 Far way in Edmonton==> 1995 Mustang GT |

				 | Hi, How are you getting away with it? I mean, what do you do when you have to go for your emission tests? Or when a cop pulls you over? Bye! ------------------ Gautam N. Lad http://www.cubicdesign.com http://www.cubicdesign.com/mustang/ |

and therefore we are allowed to go with off-road pipes. My car is not here, it's in Edmonton. And when I move to Dallas I'm still keeping my Alberta plates and registration as I'm going down for less than the legal time to change my stuff over the Texas system. So I don't worry about all that emmissions stuff. I'm just going to get burned when I finally pick a spot to move to and it's not Alberta | |

				 | Hi, The following is a dumb idea. I was looking around and found info on exhaust cut-outs. Basically its a T-shaped pipe that's got an extra opening for exhaust to exit through the opening, rather then through the cats/mufflers. This t-pipe would go right after the headers. This looks like the cheapest alternative: http://www.thunderracing.com/lt1exhaust.htm#CUT Oh well, will see whatI can do. =) Bye! ------------------ Gautam N.
