ok you can laugh at me if you want but... could some one please tell me what size rims/slicks to buy for a 99gt i dont really understand the sizing..

Try 15x8 wheel with a 5.5" backspacing and 26x8.5x15 slicks. This is more than enough for my car with 6K RPM dumps.
