![]() Well, here it goes, my first post .
I just bought an 88 Mustang GT. I am wondering about upgrades. It already has alot in it. I'm not used to small block Fords, I've been playing with FE's for the past 6 years. To start off, It is a 302 block 30 over, Motorsports 347 forged crank, crower forged race rods, Forged pistons, underdrive pulleys, electric fan. Lunati cam, Motorsports roller rockers on 7/16 studs( 1.6 ratio ) Windsor JR heads with porting( how extensive I dont know) Victor Jr intake(matched) B&G 750 dbl pumper, MSD blaster 2 coil, MSD 6al, MSd pro billet dist. World Class HD T-5, Dual friction clutch, 410 posi, Moser 31 spline axles, Shorty headers and complete flowmaster exhaust system. SSM Lowers, Motorsports uppers and still more. Problem I'm having is the roller lifers are hydraulic and the motor pulls well into 7000 rpm, but after a hard run you can hear the lifters pumping back up. Its not very loud, just a slight ticking. Are there any hyd lifters(rollers) that are good at 7000 rpm? Also, The car is hard to control..traction.. It has been lowered and i want to replace the springs, I dont want the car sitting all lopsided( i heard some drag springs do that) any suggestions? And last , I want to put better heads on it. I've seen TFS but I'm told that Victor Jr's are better, I've also heard that Windsor SR's are good.???? |

![]() the noise you hear might be the lifters out of adjustment, are they adjustable? and for your ride hieght do you want a stock hieght or a lower stance. i just bought some BBK springs. they are great. but check that out.

![]() Well, I adjusted the rockers, But the noise still comes and goes. From what i'm told 7000 rpm is a bit much for hyd. rollers. I'll just have to let it idle a minute or two after a hard run and eventually change lifters. As for the Springs, I went with the eidbach( sorry about the spelling ) launch kit with the air bag in the passenger side.
Although, I am still playing head games ![]() Just today, powered by Ford told me Victor Jr's were the best thing for my set up. HMMMMMM.... |
