Vanity Plates
Since I'm nearing completion on my '69 Fastback's restoration, I've been thinking about what to get on my license plates. I currently have "6T9 PONY."
I have a couple new ideas though. Vote on which one you like best. Post any new suggestions or ideas, too! Thanks! My choices in order: 1.) ITZ BAK (thought of this tonight, I like it) 2.) 6T9 PONY (current) 3.) NFAMUS (got the idea from Merc's thread about people revving at his house) Any new ideas? |

Thanks for that PKRWUD. You're quite the comedian today.
I guess I forgot to explain the meaning of "ITZ BAK" to anyone that doesn't know me very good on here. I restored a '69 Mustang Coupe that I drove for about a year before I wrecked it on 8/8/01. I got my fastback about 2 months later to restore and I used the coupe for parts. My fastback has the same engine/tranny/rear out of my coupe, and it will also be painted the exact same color. It's been about 8 1/2 months since I wrecked my coupe, and I'm nearing completion of my fastback after the 6 1/2 months of working on it. Hence the line "ITZ BAK." Just a clarification for all who didn't know.... |

Vanity Plate choices
I voted for 6T9 PONY because it's simple and descriptive.
My theory on vanity plates is this: First; the plate should be readable at a glance. If you have to decipher it for five minutes to figure out what it says, the point is lost. Second; the plate should make sense. 'ITZ BAK' would mean absolutely nothing to me if I saw it . What is 'IT' and when did it come back? Meaningless. '6T9 PONY would make some sense. INFAMUS is O.K. too, although possible cop-bait in some instances. btw: I don't have vanity plates. Too much money to lay out each year and besides, all the 'good ones' are taken in my state. |

you could always go for the mix of 8's 0's B's and D's looking something like so 8B0D0B8 very confusing for cops to read. But my vote also goes to the 6T9 PONY

I voted for 6t9 pony, I think it has sort of a quiet dignity. My plates say "1SICKGT."

I voted for 6T9PONY as well...everyone will know what it means & it sounds the best...mine reads 'VENUMUS' because there weren't too many 'cobra'-type plates left in FL...Later!

I drive "aggressively" so I will never get a flashy paint job or vanity plates. Why give them something easy to identify you with?
If you drive like a typical Corvette owner, I guess I would stick with 6T9 PONY which is what I voted for.

I think I am still leaning towards ITZ BAK. I live in a really small town (pop. 6000) and everyone knew me and my car. Most people know what happened to my car and that I'm fixing another one up. I'm sure half the people will think it's the same car as before, even though it's a different body style. I think what I'll do is use 6T9 PONY until they expire then I'll pay the extra cash to get a different tag.
Thanks for all the responses and votes though, everyone. I appreciate it a lot. Don't feel like your vote was worthless if you voted for something besides ITZ BAK, lol. I might still keep 6T9 PONY. I have a little while to think about it all... |

Personally I wouldn't get a vanity plate at all.
I think they are a bad idea for many reasons, some of which are being easily identifiable, whether it be hanging out down at the street races, or if you piss some crazy jerk off on the road, your plate is easier to remember...you get my drift. I stuck with a regular plate to maintain a low-profile...who the HELL would have known no spoiler and swapping red for gray would actually get MORE attention?! If this doesn't matter to you, go for it! I wouldn't do 6T9 PONY...I mean, who cares what year your car is? Say something cool instead, I like NFAMUS |

I don't really need a personal license plate for someone to remember my car if they want to. I had(will have) the only old yellow Mustang in town. They'll remember the car before they remember the plates.
