Can any Experienced StangBangers help a Beginner???
I'm 18 and I have a 93 GT, but I also have limited cash flow seeing how I am in college. My only mods so far are a AOD to T-5 conversion, MAC cat-back, MSD 6AL and a slu of autometer gauges. My question is, I have about $1,000 to $1,200 bucks this summer and I need to know what to get. I want to get into the mid to high 13's. Can I do this with $1,000-$1,200? What should I get, to get the biggest bang for my buck? Cam? Intake?. I know gears are in order seing how as I still have the factory 2:73's but what else should I get? I figure you experienced stangers can help me. Any input is appreciated, Thanks Guys !

1st off. Ditch the 2.73's for 3.73's, then get a nice set of long tubes and an offroad h-pipe. If you can try to get an intake and maybe a mild cam. But a CAI and some pulleys and a C&L mass air meter will all help. I understand the budget, just get the gears and headers 1st. They alone should make a huge difference. later, Violent ------------------ 84 GT-350, 2.5" Ram air hood, Centerline Pintails, 5-lug conversion, Recaro's, 140 speedo, 8.8 conversion, 3.73's, Motorsport A/C eliminator, Hurst shifter, ASP pulleys, Eibach pro kit, KYB's, Flowmaster exhaust, Long tubes, Flowtech off road h-pipe, .030 overbore, Extreme Energy 268, AFR 185's, CC Hi Tech Pushrods, CC Pro Magnum RR's, Pete Jackson Gear drive, 750 Speed Demon,Aeromotive 1000 hp pump, Aeromotive FPR, Aeromotive fuel filters,Weiand Xcelerator intake, Max Motorsports aluminum rack |

Get 3.55s if your on the high way a lot (otherwise 3.73s)(200+200labor), headers (250+do it your own damn self!), gut your H-pipe (broom), intake (300?), mass air/TB (couple hundred). Someone will be able to tell you whether its better to get the intake or MAF/TB.
Remember that someone here will be able to answer ANY question you have. [This message has been edited by dinomite (edited 06-04-2001).] |
