Default Got my cam...now I'm sending it back!!

I received my Crower cam the other day but after further listening to some more people from other mustang boards I'm sending it back.
For those who don't know, I order a cam from Crower with the following specs:

298*/304* (224/234 @.050)
.498/.520
112 LSA

I was told the those ramp rates were "lazy" and that I need a more aggressive ramp rate plus a tighter LSA (108-110)
I was also advised to look for something with more duration at .050 and less advertised duration.
I guess my current cam specs are a tell tale sign of slow ramp rates.
I really need to know what to do here. I 'm kinda leaning towards sending it back and buying a Comp Cam(magnum series)

For a street/strip car leaning to more street. I thought the duration on the Crower was fine. The lift could have been higher. I just looked at the specs for the Comp Magnum and the Comp X-treme. They're about the same as the Crower but with more lift. Unless you're going to bump the duration at .050 up into the 240*/250* range they're all very closely matched. I'd go with the more lift. If you start going higher in dur, say to 240* and up streetability starts to become ann issue. Everything else aslo has start being upgraded. Higher compression, bigger valve springs, stronger pushrods, high stall convertors, headers and exhaust. It's a tuff call because you're right on the egde. Good luck

Yeah, it was a tough call but I;m going to send it back and I already ordered a Comp Cam from Summit tonight.
I went with the 292* .518/.518 (244*@.050) 110* LSA
I know this cam is borderline "unstreetable" but this car is my "playtoy" and doesn't get driven often.
I anticipated new valve springs with the other cam anyway. I didn't think pushrods were an issue unless I had hardened valve guides.
Other than that, I have the exhaust, headers and in a month or so I'll get the stall converter.
One thing for sure is that this sucker is going to have one hell of an idle!

with the 110* ls, the idle shouldnt be to bad..vs. if you went with a 108*...

you may need something that flows better than the performer though... maybe a stealth...

I agree but the description said it would have a "very rough idle"
I heard this cam in a worked 306 before and the idle was pretty radical. I'm assuming that it won't be quite as radical in a 351w though.
