Gear..with trac
I am going to swap gear ratios. I dont care about gas mileage or highway that much. I do mostly street driving around town though with not to much stip. I want a fast stang but i drive in rain and i have a lot of traction probs now. Should i go with 3.55's because they truly are the best overall gear for a street car. Or are 3.73's really the best upgrade becasue i wont notice a steetability problem? Any help will be apreciated...i have been mulling this over for a long time and have taking lots of asprin because of it.

4.10's are the best purely performance gear you can get...they will all suck in the rain anyway...

I still want a first gear and a good street car. I just want to know if 3.73's are the best steet gears or are they a little bit too much for a pure street machine that only sees the track mabye 4 or 5 times a year.

I'm planning on installing 3.55's on my stock 88 GT. A friend put 3.55's on his stock 90 LX & they are awsome!!
He can hit 120mph in 4th, but never been full out in 5th. I think 3.55's are the best gear for a street driven Stang. Dont know much about 3.73's Hope this helps Oh ya, you should get a new speedomoter tooth or the mph reading will be off a little |

I dont want to sound as if Im burning you, but dont mustangs hit 120 in 4th stock, atleast with the 3.08s, right? Not too sure on this. My speedo says about 120 at about 5,000 rpm or so and I think it has the stock gears on this. Any one else??
