![]() Just back from the track today. I ran a 13.400@102.29
The last time I raced, I went from a 13.47@104 to a dismal 13.8@100.2 mph. Apparently, it did not like the 750 and performer intake combo(13.8@100.2). This time I had the weiand stealth and 750vs and ran the 13.400@102.29. So, I'm back to where I started but only a tad bit better than when I had the 600 carter and performer intake(13.47@104mph). My MPH is still 2mph down and my E.T is .07 better. I tried different spring advances in the dizzy and it seems to like the factory setting best. I don't have the parts to fine tune the Holley so everything on that is factory settings except I have the lightest secondary spring in. My timing is set at 34* (24* mechanical and 10* initial). More initial and it gets hard to start up. At this point, I'm assuming my 2400 stall converter is killing my 60' times. I'm looking to crack the 12's but seem to be stuck in the 13'4's. What do I need to get the last 4 or 5 tenths I need?

![]() ![]() 1. I think the cam needs some advance 2. The stall speed is killin you ... you said in another post I believe that actual stall you were getting was more like 2200 ??? 3. the hard starting when you go over 10 degrees initial baffles me Feed me some info ... give me the exact model # of the pistons you're using. What is your deck clearance ... what cc's are the chambers in your heads (stock is 64 i think in that head ?) What rod length, stock ? I wish you could make a pass open headers just to see, because I think you have a major mismatch in the works someplace, but it's odd how your ET's and MPH's are all over the place ... ie: your ET comes back down but your MPH hangs half way ??? For some reason my feeble brain is putting the cross hairs on your heads ... when you changed the intake, did you look to see how the old intake lined up with your intake ports ?? I ran your combo through dyno 2000 for kicks, I know it isn't exact by any means, but it will give you some good reference points if you're careful with inputs. I'll come back and post the results after i have run a few different changes This is helping me by the way because your combo is so similar to what i'm putting together ... it has already caused me to toss my original stall speed idea in the trash ... wayyy off lol

![]() Well at least in desktop dyno your cam seems to want 4 degrees of retard, and for sure wants the headers open ????
still baffled

![]() If the car is capable of 104mph, that is mid 12 mph with an automatic. I would work on 60ft and get it to where the mph and et are right for an auto. What is the 60ft, 330 and 1/8. I have a 5 speed, last time out was a 12.85 @ 102, 60ft was 1.86.
