Default Question about NOS

I've installed my nitrous NOS system and i am not gaining any power when i step on it, i checked my spray nozzle and im finding it's sucking in rather than pushing out, anyone know how to fix this? Other than that my NOS works fine.

Thanks in advance,

The nitrous spray nozzle is sucking in? Something is creating a vacuum in the line. Maybe a leak somewhere? I would double check the instructions to make sure it is installed correctly.

The Nitrous Oxide Systems kit uses two nitrous solonoids. Make sure the one closest to the bottle is working. If it isn't manifold vacuum may flow thru the nitrous regulator and the other solonoid to the nozzle.

Ok, i checked the selenoids and noticed the one connected to the wire that goes to the bottle isnt activating, I bought a new selenoid but found that I still have the problem. Is it possible the fuel pressure saftey switch is malfunctioning?

It is possible for FPSS to malfunction but it could also mean you don't have adeqaute fuel pressure. Unhook your nozzle, bypass your fpss and test fire the system into a bucket. Also double check all your grounds! This is the number one thing people mess up on installation.

My nitrous is not working at all either. How did you "adjust" the fpss. Maybe this could be the problem. Does it matter whuich wire is hooked up to the two posts. I dosconnected mine the other day to change the plugs, and reconnected them not remembering which was where. OR deos it even matter? I believe my microswitch and solenoids are working because when i activate the switch manually, i hear a click from the solenoids.

BUT, i disconnected the power green wire from the microswitch and used a test light from the + terminal to the terminal on the switch and manually clicked it on, but the light did not shine, should it? maybe it is the switch?

Good to hear you found the problem of it not firing. You did use a guage to adjust the FPSS correct? if not I'm afraid I will be reading of melted pistons next.

Jimmy there is a allen head screw on the fpss that adjusts it. normally its under a small rubber cover.

68fastback- i found the allen head screw but b4 i do anything do you think this is the problem? I am unable to get any spray out of the line to the TB at all with the car off and doing it manually. The system is only a month or two old and is not working anymore. I have about 7 pds of NOs left and made i run at the track successfully. After that, it hasnt worked since. Could it be the throttle microswitch. As i mentioned in the earlier post, I tested it (I think tio be the right way) and the light did not shine. BUT, when i click the switch manually, I could hear the solenoids making a noise. Im really pissed off right now- ive called NOS only to keep me on hold long distance for 10 minmutes before hanging up on them!

Sorry for the late reply but I have no computer at work.

If the FPSS switch is wired correctly it won't fire with the motor not running. I would jumper the FPSS and see if everything else works. DO NOT SHOOT THE NITROUS INTO YOUR MOTOR, USE A BUCKET!

If that test passes then I would look at what fuel pressure the motor has at WOT. (without nitrous) if it is adequate then I would take a guage and hook it up to my nitrous system (fuel side) and set the pressure on the FPSS. Your kit instructions will tell you what fuel pressure you need to run at the solenoid.

SIDE NOTE FOR NITROUS USERS:

It would be a very good investment for any of you to invest in a "Master Flow Check Kit" it is a simple kit designed to set flowing fuel pressures through the fuel jet.

. "I would jumper the FPSS and see if everything else works."

Fast- What do you mean Jumper? to bypass the fpss do i need to unscrew each wire and touch them together? Then do i disconnect the line to the TB and trigger it manually? Was I using the testlight correctly when testing the throttle switch? Also, do i just touch the top of the solenoid with a test light to see if that is working properly? Thanks for your help!
