Hey i cant whait untill my 351 cleveland corba jet gets done because it is gonna be one badass mother ******. Well my dads friend owns a engine shop and he is professaly building my engine for me. He is doning all the work on it for free but i have to buy all the parts so its going to take a while with my jobs lol i think i'll have it all paid off and in my truck next winter. I think im going with a 408 stroker kit and all the other good stuff, like super charger and all that. He said if i get all that it will be like well over 600+ HP. but i wont no untill its dino tested. It is going to be crazy, It was a HUGE difference when i whent from a stock 302 (120HP)to a 1972 351 cleveland corba jet that is now pushing 400 Hp. I cant even think how allsome it is going to be.

Actually, I've never heard of or read a reference to a 351 Cobra Jet. The only Cobra Jets that I know of were all 428 FE engines. There were 302,351,and 429 Boss engines. From what I remember, the Boss 351 was a Winsor block set up to use Clevland heads. Could you be thinking of a Boss 351 instead of a 351 CJ?

Yup, I did finally find the 1972 351 CJ. It was rated at 266 hp. And there was a 429 (385 family) SCJ in '71. I learn something new almost every day.

Yeah, get used to that. All the little parts add up, to say nothing of the stroker kits, superchargers, etc themselves. Just consider yourself lucky you're not getting charged labor. Quite often that's about half the cost right there. Now that I've got a decent 2nd car, all I need is some space, and I can get to work on my engine.

Good luck, btw. Sounds like it'll be interesting when it's finished. |
