This will be my first post so be patient w/ me, I havent been around a mustang in 9 years and looks like things have changed a bit.So w/ that said what i know is what worked 9 years ago for my street car. This one is going to be a bit better though, I have a 79 w/ all 86 body and interior parts and just started to buy my parts for my motor that I am building . Its a 351 w/ a stock compresion pistons, reman crankw/ all new bearings, .30 over bore. as for the cam i am undecided as to what cam to run and rpm range and heads. I thought that I was set on gt40-p heads but have found a few adds in the back of magazines and now i am unsure. There are two sets,210cc intake and another set that is 190cc intake volume. If I were to go w/ either of these intakes i am leaning more towards the vic jr intake than the rmp intake , but if i stick w/ the gt40p headsi am going w/ the rmp intake and a cam that works in the rpm range.i also plan to go w/ 1 &3/4 long tubes w/ either of the larger heads. This car is for about 50/50 street driving on the weekends and strip use. What does anyone else think.( the reason i am looking at these two heads is because they are less than 700 dollars assembled ready to go) and the p heads i can get for 200 dollars for the pair.I do plan to do some hand porting (basic) and have a valve job done to the p heads if they are my choice.

on a 351 the gt40p's won't be much more better than the heads it came with.

unless you get someone like a Neil Erickson (Midwest Induction Technology) to port the GT40 heads - he's not outrageously expensive...........I've seen "resonable" used quite often about his pricing and his skills are top shelf.
