				 | firing order I got a very slightly used ford crate motor from a shop that had a mechanics lean on a car that no one paid for. They told me it was a 302. This passed weekend I did something stupid and had to buy a Haynes manual to get the firing order and put the plug wires back on the distributor. In doing so I realized that according to the 64 1/2 to 73 haynes book...the driver's side spark plug wires were arranged to the 351W firing order. So I put the passenger side wires on according that order and fired it right up and was on the road. Is it possible the motor is a 351W. I didn't think my old carb, intake, etc. would work if it was. How do I tell. |

				 | David, If you installed a 302 intake rest assured this is not a 351W. The deck height would not allow the difference. The reason for the changed firing order could be a 351W cam, these are interchangeable as long as the firing order is changed. ------------------ 69 351W Sportsroof deluxe [This message has been edited by Clark Rodgers (edited 03-27-2001).] |

				 | Clark is right, my 351W uses the 289 firing order because of the cam. ------------------ 67 Fastback - Arctic White Pearl paint 351W ,Trick Flow Aluminum Heads, Edelbrock TorkerII, Carter 750 CFM, Comp.
