Ways to raise factory REV LIMITER??
what are the best ways to go about raising the factory rev limiter? i have heard terms like eec extender, pms, chips.. whats the word on the street?? my car is daily driven but abused on the highways.. and local tracks.. I am switching intakes and was told i will need to shift at a higher RPM i was thinking 6500 my factory REV works exactly 6250... what should I do and what are my PRICE options? custom chip? extender? what??

It all depends on what you want to spend. FAST, EPEC, or a PMS would be the best if you want to get the max out of you setup and program it your self. They are allot of cash.
FMS extenders can adjust your fuel and rev limit by thr turn of a knob and will cost a much as a custom chip. A custom chip would be a good choice if you got it done on a dyno. They can tune it just as good as a EPEC or a PMS, but you can not make changes down the road.

You can extend your rpm range by 200 rpm's for free by rewireing your fuel pump to a switched power and taking the computers control of it away. The injectors cut off at 6450 though and you will need something for the computer to get by that.

Wade pretty much summed it up.
Are you sure that more RPM's is what you need? Have you have it on a dyno to see "where" you are making power? When I dyno'd mine I was a little surprised to see that HP dropped off dramatically after 6000 and peak HP came at 5300 rpms! Just something to think about. Take it easy, E
