![]() Got the my motor all taken apart today. Found a NASTY blown head gasket between cylinders #3 and #4. little bit of detonation on cylinder #3, plugs are all fine. The heads dont seem to be quite flat though so Im going to have to take them in to be surfaced.
Im going to home port match the intake/heads tomrrow, and then slap it all back together with the new holley intake and 1.72rockers! Hopefully it will run good! -On a side note, I drove the White LX that beat me last week. its COMPLETELY gutted, but it has a ported Gt40's a B-303 w/ 1.7's and a ported cobra intake, and MAN do I like the way that motor runs. It pulls HARD From 2000 all the way to the limiter. It feels like a much wider powerband than my E-303. Could be just because the cars light, but it PULLS HARD to 6250! PS. Ill be hitting Famoso Raceway friday w/ a bunch of friends to see how it all runs. Skyler

![]() hey sky you should swap to a b-303..IMO it is better for your combo becasue we have the same basic combo in one of our cars and we swaped between those 2 cams and founf the b303 to be noticeable better..we also run them with 1.7rr..it will clear a stock bottom end

![]() Wonder why it would pull so much harder uptop. I'll see how my E does with the 1.72 rockers.

![]() Sky, You will love that Holley intake. It made a night and day difference on the top end over my old ported GT-40.
And if you are going to swap cams, I would personally go with the F-cam. The B cam has less lift than the E, but a tad more duration. The F cam has more lift and duration. .512 .512, and 226 degrees duration if I remember correctly.

![]() well with the B303 and 1.72 rockers, the lift will be .516"
I got the B cam cheap and wasn't expecting much from it, but I really like it. Mine also pulls very hard all the way to the rev limiter.

![]() Yea im impressed with the b-cam, my friend runs 1.7 rr's bcam, trickflow heads on a 347 bottom end, it sounds nasty, and it pulls way beyond 6k, his car needs an x-cam, but it runs 114 mph trap.
