Default aod to t-5 conversion...

I know a lot of people have posted about this, but when I search for AOD of t5...it says that the minimum for a search is 4 letters for each words...soooo yeah...How much would this cost If I were able to sell my current aod? what would I need? how long does this usually take? just a few basic questions...I wanted to get a stall converter...but I'm getting so bored with this AOD...I NEED A MANUAL!!!

It's not bad at all. The hardest part is the pedal assembly (for me anyway). After that its like changing a clutch. Here's what I got:
Used motor w/T-5 still on it: 300
clutch/p-plate 160
used Pro 5.0 115
Hurst handle/console plate 50
cable and quadrant 100
pedal assembly 50
pilot bushing 10
rear main seal 10
It took me about 20 hours by myself/first time doing it. I think the cost really depends on how much you get the tranny for. I haven't had a chance to drive it yet though because of some wiring problems (see prev. post). I sold my AOD for $150 and my B&M hammer shifter (great shifter by the way) for $130.

It has 130k on it. I sold it to a guy at work and before I took it out I let him test drive it to see how it worked.

Default T5 Swap

I rounded all the parts for my T5 swap and then had a friend that has done several swaps actually do the work. I found a lot of information on yahoo simply by inserting AOD TO T5 SWAP in the browser. There are a couple wiring harnesses that you may have to get from the dealership, such as the nuetral safety switch and the back-up lights. I also found it to be the perfect time to install underdrive pullies and an H-Pipe.

93lxvert...how much did your 1/4 time improve? I really wish I could do this with a little help...but it doesn't look like I can. Don't have all the tools. I might do the same as you and round up all the parts then have some1 do it for me.

I didn't need any special tool other than some really long extensions. You'll need a jack or something for the tranny but that is about it. The hardest part was getting the pedal assembly out from the tangle of wires and brackets.

Default AOD to T5

90LxDropTop.. Cost would be hard to say, I bought most my parts as a package deal off ebay... and then just had to round up the extras, I optioned to go new with the clutch assembly. Haven't had it to the track yet,, hopefully soon though. I also had the gears changed over to 3:73s and really like em..... try this link for information on parts and instructions http://www.wcfords.com/tech/tech/t5swap/t5swap.html
