![]() I pulled my heads & intake for porting & such, one thing i did was
by-pass the egr by blocking the passage in the intake. A guy on this site said he did that and had pinging and junk at part throttle, I never heard this ,i thought it would keep the intake and air charge cooler. I'm putting it back together tomorrow, block it off or not????????????????? Thanks Wes |

![]() I say "not"....There really isnt any performance gain to be had by blocking it off.
I used to have mine blocked off and it ran the exact same time so I dont see any point to blocking it off. Later,

![]() No gain in blocking EGR. You're better off with a higher flowing intake rather than messing too much with the stocker. The EGR actually keeps the engine cooler, believe it or not. Only reason it's there is to lower peak combustion temps, and doesn't operate @ WOT, anyhoo.
