Default No SVTs for 2005?!

I just saw this on another site that there will be no 2005 SVT products! I kept waiting to hear what Ford had cooked up for 2005, svt wise. Hmm... now I know. I bet the 2006s they are working on should be pretty stout.

BTW, a ford dealer told me last week he was already taking deposits on the 2005 GTs. I hope they don't screw themselves with these cars like they did the 2003 cobras. If it weren't for the damned $5k "Market Adjustment" dealers put on the cobras, when they first came out, I'd had bought one of those instead of the Avalanche. Hard to feel sorry for them when they have to start selling them $5k less than sticker..

Yea, no SVT's until 2006 But I have a strange feeling that the wait will be well worth it!

Not sure, but I do believe the GT500 monikier is under Shelby's ownership. Althought I thought there was some kind of rule that is associated with time that pertains to such.

Either way, same crew will be working on it...SVT...so the only thing diffrent will be the name. Either way, the name would be a winner...Cobra, or GT500.

Dang...I like GT500....has a ring to it How about adding two letters to the end of it KR

Yeah, i believe that SVT is concentrating on modifying the upcoming models and since they try to improve the SVT's every year they have them from the previous year i suppose it takes alot of attention. i'm surprised they won't still offer the SVT focus since they're not changing the focus at all. That's probably a good thing since they'll have more people on the mustang

It's actually quite possible. Back when Shelby sued for in '84 for the use of the "GT350" moniker the courts ruled that since the name hadn't been used in such a long time that it was up for grabs. Shelby did the same thing with the '93 Cobras, I believe. Besides, now that he's working with Ford again I wouldn't doubt he'd let them use the name without a big fuss. Only time will tell, but that'd be freakin sweet.
