ignition switch key tumbler
I wanted to change my ignition switch key tumbler in my 90GT. what do i need to do to change it and it is tough?
i saw one for $30 @ mustangparts.com and I need to push mine in to turn key back or forward to ON position, my old man can't do it and he needs to move my car everyday, thanks

Re: ignition switch key tumbler
Don't need anything fancy for this one, just simple hand tools, maybe a Torx driver. It's been awhile since I did one, but I remember it being fairly simple. Disconnect the battery, take off the plastic trim, and see what you have in there. There's a flat bar that's built into the column that needs to be lined up with the slot in the back of the new ignition. Oh, and there's a little metal clip snapped onto the bottom of the ignition switch, you can see it in the pic on the link that was posted. DO NOT REMOVE THIS, that's where all the springs/tumblers are, you'll end up buying another switch. The switch itself is either bolted in from the other side (don't think so, but maybe) or there's a larger clip that holds the whole assembly in the column.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
