GT40 or Truck upper? I have a 347 short block with ported polished performer heads, Cobra ported polished intake, BBK 1 3/4 long tube headers. I would like to know if I should replace the Cobra upper with a GT40 or Explores truck intake. Please advise. Thanks Red Rider

Why don't you just port the hell out of the cobra intake that you have? I'm not sure, but I heard that the cobra upper will flow more then the gt40 if you get it fully ported. That will save you money for more mods. ------------------ blown347,free breathing heads and exhaust, solid roller cam, tremec, moser axles, 4.10's, role cage and all the other stuff. 11.8 @ 115 very untuned

from whatI understand, the explorer is about the same as the Cobra, both of which flow more than the GT-40 which is a little more of a torque / mid-rpm range manifold. If you really want to do something with your Cobra, check into having it extrude-honed.

I thought that you could not put an Explorer upper with a Cobra lower... ------------------ White 1995 Mustang GT Dynomax Cat-Back Custom H-pipe K&N Filters w/o Air Silencer My 1995 Mustang GT

I used the GT 40 upper intake and was not very impressed compared to the Cobra "Extrude Honed" intake. Comparing the two I did managed to get another 15hp out of it. I had them gasket match to a Felpro 1250 and had the Edelbrock heads ported to match. The GT40 is a nice looking intake, but you can't do much with it. ------------------ 89 (GR40 Griggs)Hatch 89 Coupe 90 Coupe
