Question Intake for my combo???

Should I get a used Explorer upper and lower or some guy's $225 used Cartech boxed upper for a stock lower?

In Jeg's catalog they advertise a Comp box that adds 20 hp and .3 off your 1/4 on a stock lower. It seems like the stock lower would need more help than just an upper plenum to make more power like at least porting.

Anyone got the scoop on these intakes???
