![]() Let me roll out the facts here.
The T-5, even the world class units have been labelled as a "weak" tranny. Now, they may be stronger than what they get credit for, but running 12.30's on any stock T-5 would probably be pushing it as far as longevity is concerned. That being said, the 4banger unit has crappy syncros, and weaker gears. Guys are blowing up their 300lb/ft T-5's running low 12's/high 11's. Telling somebody that the 4banger tranny will take low 12's launching harder than the 5.0 T-5 because of superior gearing seems to be a complete contridiction in the advice that he take it easy on the tranny. Like I stated, the torqueload rating on the 4banger T-5 is 240lb/ft. A stock 302 makes 300. Do what you will with the information that I've posted. |
